New York Knicks State guard Jalen Brunson was named the 2025 NBA clutch player of the year. Brunson and The Knicks are one of the best teams in the entire NBA regular season. They ranked fifth in the league with a 61% win rate. According to the league's “clutch” name, Brunson leads the league with clutch points (5.6 points). Brunson is the third winner of the award. He also led the league's shooting score (52), second overall score (156), and third in total assists later in the game. Denver's Nikola Jokic is second, and is the only strong challenger based on the vote. Minnesota's Anthony Edwards ranked third. Brunson joined TNT last night and discussed why he thrived in the clutch moment. “I think some people are born,” Brunson said when asked about having the “clutch” gene. “I think I have to study in high school, and I’m getting better and better at every stage, and we’re here.” Brunson and the Knicks gave a huge test tonight’s third game against the Detroit Pistons. This will be Detroit's first playoff game in six seasons, and due to the series tied at a 1-1 ratio: like loading.
