Fans seemed confused after Brandi and Monica ended their concert early without any explanation.
As seen in videos shared on social media, Brandy, 46, left the stage midway through the Chicago leg of The Boy Is Mine tour on Saturday, October 18, due to sound issues.
“Give me a second, I gotta get my…” the Grammy winner said as she left the United Center stage. But she never returned, and Monica, 44, performed the final songs alone, sending the audience home without hearing their hit duet “The Boy Is Mine.”

Brandy and Monica announced their joint tour earlier this year, more than two decades after the R&B stars' iconic 1998 collaboration hit the charts.
“I think it's more than just a hit record,” Brandy told nature earlier this month. “When two young women came together and blended our voices and stories, the world connected in a way we couldn't have imagined. It's such a blessing to see how this song connected with people around the world — and still does now.”
Although the pair got into a backstage argument while rehearsing for the 1998 MTV Video Music Awards, which led to a year-long feud, it turns out the two have since reconciled.

“This is truly a full-circle moment,” Brandi said in a statement to the media in June when the tour was first announced. “Monica and I are coming together again not just for the music – but to honor where we came from and how far we’ve come.
“'The Boy Is Mine' is a defining chapter in R&B, and taking the stage again after all these years is more than a reunion; it's a celebration of growth, sisterhood, and the love our fans have given us since day one,” she continued.
Monica added at the time: “The continued love for The Boy Is Mine means everything to me. This tour is a celebration of our history, our influences and the fans who have grown up with us.”
“Brandi and I have been on our own unique journeys, and being reunited in this way is a reminder of the respect, strength, and power of true music. We are giving what people have asked of us and doing it with grace, love, and purpose. God's timing has been perfect for us,” Monica said.
