If you love movies, Texas, and good times, the Dome Film Festival is for you! this unique festival Founded by mother and daughter Shanna Schanen and Skylar Schanen to honor the spirit of Texas cinema. Boy, did it!
The festival, which takes place November 6-9 in Roundtop, Texas (population 90), is in its second year, but you might think it's been around a long time. It's cool, quaint, and full of star power!
When asked what she learned from her first year, Shanin said, “I learned how much effort it actually takes to run a film festival.” She explained that in the second year, they started earlier, added more programming, and really stepped up to it.

Here’s what happened on day one of RTFF!
The event kicked off on the red carpet, surrounded by music, merchandise, drinks and Texas cowboy chic. Think refined and refined, but also earthy and unpretentious. Everyone is an important person, there are no strangers, only friends who have not yet met.
The opening video is adult childrenstarring Texas native Thomas Sadowski. The role is most recognized for newsroom and fragments of life (and his marriage to Amanda Seyfried), Sadowski grew up in College Station, where his parents still live. Not only did they attend the event to support their son, but they also had a bus full of all their friends. It was truly one of the sweetest things to witness.

Spill the ATX asked Sadoski what it's like to have so much love and support from family and friends. “It feels great,” he said. “It's a weird thing to stand on a red carpet and look around and see people I grew up with… and they're making fun of me and making faces at me, just like they did when we were 8 years old and on the swim team together.”
He concluded: “It makes it all the more special and I’m happy to be here.”
He is not alone. Everyone who attended the event was excited to attend! After the screening, attendees gathered for the opening party and everyone was excited. Neon lights, mechanical bulls, line dancing, brisket, french fries, and of course, lots of booze.

The festival runs through Sunday and includes features, short films, tributes and even a Texas-style Studio 54 event. Stay tuned for more and follow the adventures of Spill the ATX Instagram and Tik Tok.
