Waitress now plays a delicious musical in Austin

I've never been Movie Waitress. Keri Russell is charming, but I find the movie a bit boring. Fortunately, this is not the case with stage production. Of course, Sara Bareilles' score is related to that.

The musicals are currently performing at the Zach Theatre in Austin and they offer a very unique experience. Zach transforms the stage into Joe's Pie Diner, and the audience sits in the restaurant on the stage! Not only can you maintain close relationships with the actors, but you are also given a party from sponsor HEB.

This kind of experience is rare, but it's not the first time Zach has done something like this. In 2022, they provide music in stage seats. That's it.

In addition to the pie, the show’s highlights include leading actress Leslie McDonel as Jenna and Nyla Watson, who plays her colleague/friend Becky. You may recognize McDonald's from other Zach works, such as Beautiful and Janis Joplin's Nights. Watson is part of Broadway waitress and Broadway tour work evilpurple and Hudderstown.
